JOB PROFILE:

Looking for an experienced Sales Professional to develop new business in the region. A solid track record of selling Packaging – returnable / sustainable packaging, pallet programs and /or protective packaging concepts is required. Also, any experience selling value-added logistics service would be a plus.

Knowledge of and current relationships with potential end-users of the aforementioned packaging and value-added services in the region is required. Additionally, you will have technical knowledge of the use and function of Protective Packaging as well as Sustainable Packaging for a variety of applications.

Team Members must be able to give customers a one of a kind experience, building exemplary customer relationships and regularly exceeding customer expectations with quick and efficient service. 

Duties include, but are not limited to: cash handling, customer service, stocking, opening and closing procedures, document shredding, maintaining the general welfare and cleanliness of the store and the property directly in front of and behind the store, sorting mail, receiving, labeling and recording packages, faxing, copying, typing, emailing, scanning, organizing, ordering, packing, wrapping, boxing, crating, courier duties, maintaining accurate records, account filing, account management, giving customer quotes, freight quotes, pallet assembly, selling and more. 
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Must be willing and able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be willing to provide outstanding customer service. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to speak, write and type English accurately and quickly. Spanish is a plus. Manual hand dexterity required to operate POS, copiers and other equipment and complete paperwork.

·         Greet customers the moment they enter the store with a smile and a "hello."
·         Exceed customer's expectations by delivering exceptional, quality product delivery and salesmanship.
·         Accurately receive (count and sign for), sort and place mail and packages in mailboxes or appropriate storage location. Scan and label all oversized or tracked items. Complete this task with perfection. Consistent and accurate completion of these tasks is a necessity. 
·         Record all sales transactions in POS and accurately process cash, check, money orders and credit card transactions.  Retrieve customer's signature verification of work performed. Print reports as requested.
·         Pack contents for shipping using established procedures and products.
·         Effectively operate all software. 
·         Receive and process packages for shipping. Lift and weigh packages on scale, accessing manifesting software, generating labels and retrieving from customer's vehicle when requested or when needed.
·         Complete documents for traces and shipping claims.
·         Accurately charge and record all account customer transactions. 
·         Answer telephones, selling our services effectively to all inquiring or potential customers. 
·         Assist in merchandising, including but not limited to: stocking shelves, ensuring a clean and orderly appearance of product, informing appropriate personnel of inventory levels for re-ordering supplies, re-ordering supplies, being informed of product specifics (i.e. warranties, durability claims, pricing, etc.)
·         Open and close out of POS to include: reconciliation of cash, checks, money orders, credit cards, and all other transactions accurately and in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
·         Operate copiers, fax machines, scanners, binding equipment, laminators, shredders, hand tools, electric saws and drills, and all other office machines in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
·         Make timely pickups and deliveries. 
·         General housekeeping duties. Maintain a neat and organized working environment.

POSITION SUMMARY
 
As Crating and Packaging Specialist for Craters & Freighters, you will plan and direct all aspects of packaging engineering activities within our organization to include art & antique, household goods, and commercial/industrial packaging. The Crating & Packaging Specialist designs, engineers, CADs and creates cut sheets for custom packaging jobs for our franchisees. They must ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to Craters & Freighters established policies and objectives as well as the packaging and crating industry’s standards such as government specifications including Mil Spec. You must be resourceful, diplomatic, efficient, and pay attention to detail. 
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES 
 
  • Introduce and be able to train the Company’s foundation groundwork to franchise owners. You will analyze and re-engineer existing crates and corrugate containers, write and publish commercial/industrial manuals, introduce new packaging and crating material as they are developed, and design a new self-ramping crate.
  • Conduct research and development and source packaging and crating equipment, materials handling equipment, tolls, hardware, closure materials, and warehouse space requirements with layout and design.
  • Assist in developing additional revenue resources such as mobile crating w/foam in place and government subcontracting programs.
  • Assist in research and development of regional supply programs by identifying regional/national suppliers, negotiate costs, and investigate the distribution process of such.
  • Conduct cost/pricing methodology analysis by researching industry pricing standards, and identify various costs/pricing models for large assembly line runs and publish the cost/pricing formulas and generic pricing.
  • Perform a system-wide implementation Process through operations training, materials, manuals and support.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Innovative thinker, continuous learner with a positive attitude.
  • Experience in the crating, shipping and/or freighting industry.
  • Exceptional process development and organizational skills to ensure engineering projects and processes conform to Craters & Freighters established policies and standards.
  • Ability to lead a team diplomatically and collaboratively with a wide range of personality types (internal and external clients/owners). 
  • Highly effective communicator; can build and nurture strong relationships through challenging events.
  • AutoCAD Certification and experience in designing a wide range of packaging and crating techniques - ability to create AutoCAD drawings that are conceptual for customer and detailed for fabricator.
  • Ability to read Government Mil Spec’s.
  • Prior experience implementing system-wide changes to process and procedure.
  • Experience in writing and developing commercial/industrial training and instruction manuals, helpful but not mandatory
  • Experience in cost/pricing methodology analysis and implementing innovative packaging methods that will offer competitive pricing.
  • Ability to read Government Mil Spec’s.
