Thread: Skids v Bases

    Default Skids v Bases

Does anybody make their skids the same as bases but without the top? I've recently been told that skids should be made differently. What's different? Also I was told that there are tables that show the calculations for equipment over 40K#? Thanks for the help.

    Default Nice eye!

    Is that you?

Go to the main page and there's a section on standards. They have just about everything US there. It would be nice to see some british standards though. I got a bid for some boxes that were spec'ed with a british standard but I couldn't find it in time and I missed the bid.

There's a few regs there too. check it out.

    Default Weight capacities

A crate must have the top frame installed for it to carry it's weight. That's assuming you are using tables like what's in the 104 spec to make your crates and to determine the weight capacity.

The capacity tables for a skid is determined based on the skid alone.

In the Specifications section they have the crate and skid standards. I'm not at the office and don't remember the standard for skids but I think it's in a general packaging standard (I'm being too lazy to go and dig through).

Look through them and if you can't find it then repost here and I'll look it up if nobody else has posted it yet.

I bought Crate Pro 5 and it has several BS1133 Specs in it now. They advertise on this site. Great program so far!

I am the proud owner of Crate Pro as well.
By far the most superior software on the market today.
I looked into a software ERP using MySys Configurator & it does not hold a candle to Crate Pro!
It does everything for you even pricing & estimates, Cut Sheet for the Cutter, & Assembly for the guys to build it!!
