First of all welcome to the WoodenCRATES.org forum!
Your visit here is a first step to improving your business skills and the crating community as a whole.

If you are new to forums read on... Either before or after reading this, you'll also want to click on the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) link above to learn some fundamentals about using a forum.

Entering a forum is a little like entering a party. You may be comfortable from the start or feel a little awkward and unwelcome. Fortunately though forums are a bit more like a Halloween party than a Presidential Ball. You can hang out and listen in on conversations, and even though people may know you are there, they have no idea who you are. This is called 'lurking' and anyone who has used a forum has been a lurker. Until you have something to say, there's no need to introduce yourself.

Also just like a Halloween party, when you do introduce yourself, you don't need to use your real name and most people don't. To join in the conversation you can either start a new discussion or make a comment on a conversation that is already started. But to do this you first have to give us some information and login. To get started you need to provide your name and email address but when you post, most people use a fake and fun name like 'Crate King' or 'Little Larry'. Feel free to use something that fits your personality. You can also add an 'avatar'. This is an icon that will appear next to your posts and it can also represent your personality. Some people use photo's of themselves while others will use some other graphic or even a photo of their children or a famous movie star.

If you lurk long enough, you will learn that there all different skill levels are represented in the forums. You will meet people that have so many brain cells that you won't think they're human. You'll also see people that have so few that you can't believe they're human either (often times, that would be me !)

If you are already a member of the human race, there are only a few simple rules that you must know before joining in. They are...

• Never insult another person - Just as at a party, everyone here wants to enjoy themselves. If anyone becomes insulting their posts may be deleted and they may be banned from the forum.
• Never try to sell or promote products or services in the forum - There are other places to do this. If you have a product or service that solves a problem that someone else asked for help with, professionally inform them of how you can help and provide them with a link to your website or with your phone number.
• Never promote against the principles of the forum - This is a forum to promote the WOOD crate industry. That means don't start yackin' plastics unless it's something like a skid-mate.
• Don't cross post - If you have a question or comment, select the most appropriate forum for your post and put it there. Making the same post in two or more forums creates pollution.

If you break any of these rules a moderator will let you know.

As a final note, there is one way that users sometimes become lost in forums. While navigating you may find yourself in a forum or group of forums and can't see how to get back to the main page. Look for a tree view in the upper left corner. There you can click on WoodenCRATES.org Forums to get back. Also, be sure to look as some of the options at the bottom of the page.
