Structural Significance of a Ramp Wall to a Wooden Crate
We are working with a client who is concerned that, if we remove a flip out nose ramp that is on the end of a side ramp wall that opens towards the user, and replace the flip out nose with a champfered to the entire ramp door, that it would affect the structural integrity of the entire crate.
We believe that the ramp wall merely mainly as a dust flap when it is secured, by bolts.
Has any one tested a variety of different ramp wall enclosures to a crate or any case studies to the structural integrity of a champfered ramp wall?
Thank you!

Re: Structural Significance of a Ramp Wall to a Wooden Crate
Havent run any test but have constructed many crates with chamfered style ramps. If you are able can you be more descriptive with dimensions , weights and style of construction of the crate such as if it is plywood or lumber crate as well as cleats and such.
Thank you,
Marcel
