Default What is the average cubic ft. rate in the Texas area for onsite crating?

I have been in the crating business for about 15 years now and have done most of my crating in my area.I am quoting a customer that is based out of Texas and I was wondering if anyone could give me a ball park on a cubic ft. rate for standard crating to be performed on site at the customers location. The work will be performed here in my area but I would like to keep the rate close to what the customer is used to paying in Texas so they are not shocked by my quote.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Default Cube rates in Texas

Hi Pep930 and welcome to the WCO forums!

I don't know if using a cube table in any circumstances is the best choice. At best your quotes will be in line with others and at worst you'll be out of the market. I recommend working up a more accurate estimate of your time and materials to start with the consider the industry that your customer is in. You may want to look at Crate Pro which can provide an accurate estimate and has industry standard times already supplied.

Texas has various markets from technology to industrial oil equipment. I would the customer, operations of the branch location and the type products that they typically have crated (not necessarily the contents of each crate) then develop a pricing profile based on that information.

Good luck and please post how things come out.

I agree with Jeff, cover your costs, give the customer the assurance that your the best at what you you do, then prove it my completing the job leaving there facility cleaner than when you arrived. I even have my crews cleaning around the machines while waiting for the customers crew as they finish up securing the parts on the machines. Customer service to my customers [U][B]worth my price.
