    Default Market Segments

    Hey Guys,

I recently read Gordon Hughes article (found here - http://www.woodencrates.org/articles...d=A0097#AA0097) and immediately thought what an opportunity...

With so much pressure on the industry, and the strong need to establish ourselves... what better way then to start a thread on the market segments which use (or have been known to use) wooden crates or plywood boxes.

In my experience, industries known to use this type of packaging range from; telecom, electronics, defence, machinery & equipment, but i'm sure there are many others!

Let's get a industry segment list compiled... the time is now to help each other!

What segments are you finding success in?!

I don't know that there are any limitations. I've packed everything from about 50000 loose plastic soldiers to stacks of special paper. Retail display equipment, oil rig components. Anything that gets shipped still needs to be crated. It just depends on the quantity or weight.

I think it would be good to get other countries to start to build better crates so customers in the states don't keep going "cant you just do it like that" and point to something that's already falling apart. This will help our industry by allowing us to keep our margins up and not going the way of the pallet companies.
