Thread: Labor coming out too high on KD (Knock Down) crates

Default Labor coming out too high on KD (Knock Down) crates

Crate Pro 5 allows you to chose the closure condition for your crates when you design them. CP5 assumes that, no matter which closure condition you select, you will always be the one to ultimately assemble the panels and close the crate. This ensures you don't inadvertently under charge for a crate.

In some cases you might send the crate, with one or more panels un-assembled or in knock down condition to the customer to assemble and/or close it. In these cases you don't want to the extra labor costs normally calculated to assemble the crate to appear in your costs or quotes.

From the Design screen click on Container > Fasteners tab and check the box "Customer will close crate". This will remove the labor calculation for assembling the panels. You can also modify the fastener quantity on this screen if you're not including them or are adding more.

(In some cases when you initially design a crate you may need to reset the closure condition after you created the design. In some instances it reverts back to your default during the initial calculation process)
