Thread: Bases and Weights

    Default Bases and Weights

I'm crating products currently under 1,000 lbs. I'm using skids but no rub strips. Is there a specification that tells me at what point I should add rub strips?

When applying rubstrips we use them for 2 reasons.

    1. So that when the forklift picks up the crate it helps prevent the crate from tipping as forks lock between the base & the rubstrips.

    2. To provide strength to the base so as it does not bend when lifting heavier objects. This is determined by both the length & the weight.
Common sense would be your best judge as to weather or not you need rubstrips.
