Thread: Quoting Crates

Is there a good way to speed up how long it takes to quote my crate jobs? My market is really tight so I'm finding I'm losing jobs simply becasue it takes me too long to get back to customer with a quote. Is there a realistic amount of time for quoting?

    Hey New_Crater,

In order to answer that, you have to put yourself in their (your customers) shoes.

If I were a customer looking for a standard quotation i would expect it within 24 hours at the latest. If the quote is more sophisticated than a larger time frame might apply... but generally if you're looking for a quote on crates (wood only) I see no reason why you couldn't have that within a 24 hour timeframe.

Sort of like in this case... you asking a question and looking for feedback. How satisfied are you with having an answer back so quickly? Will you write again? Same rules apply!

    What do you guys think?

You couldn't be more correct Carey. I often tell my sales team that if we aren't able to get a quote quickly, how is the customer to believe that we can manufacture their product in a timely manner. This goes even more so with a potential new customer.
