With more than 75 years of experience in the wood industry and nearly 850 current assessment clients, Package Research Laboratory (PRL) is the world's leading inspection agency for WPM. Package Testing
Package Research Laboratory is one of the best equipped package testing and design facilities in the country, staffed by experienced and highly skilled, certified technicians. We are an independent certified ISTA and UN/DOT-HAZMAT testing laboratory. In addition to traditional testing and design facilities, we also offer thermal packaging qualification and certification, project management, package development, and consulting services.

Our laboratory tests materials -- corrugated, paper, wood, metal and plastic -- for serviceability as container components, as well as for manufactures' compliance to customers' specifications

We are a independent certified ISTA and UN/DOT testing laboratory. Also tests can be performed in accordance with ASTM, TAPPI, NMFC, UFC, Federal, Military as well as customized application methods developed within the laboratory for or by our clients.

PRL is one of the original UN/DOT approved laboratories for testing hazardous material containers. Whether it is a small combination container or an IBC, PRL can provide you with the proper markings for your shipment. With our experienced staff, you can rest assured that your container has met the required standards for shipping either domestically or worldwide.

When your product is temperature sensitive and there is a need to verify the performance of your insulated container, our Thermal Package Testing Division may be the answer. We have a completely programmable environmental conditioning chamber and temperature monitoring equipment to measure and record temperature while being subjected to simulated shipping environments.
